Bangladesh Pavilion at Heritage Festival kicks off another successful year
Edmonton, Aug 9, 2019: The Edmonton Heritage Festival draws an estimated 360,000 visitors this year. The Bangladesh Pavilion kicks off another successful year of participation. The three-day long festival concludes in Edmonton, Alberta on Monday, August 5th in beautiful weather.
73 pavilions from 100 countries of the world took part and more than 25 stages were set up at this world famous festival. The Bangladesh Pavilion of the Bangladesh Canada Heritage Society of Edmonton represents Bangladesh. At the inaugural day of the pavilion, Delwar Jahid, one of the executives of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Association, Canada unit Command and editor of Diverse Edmonton, was present. Ahsan Ullah and Sadiq Huda were co-ordinated and managed the Pavilion.
This year, the festival, which is known as the largest festival in the world, was attended by nearly 4 million visitors. People's interest in Bangladesh Pavilion is on the rise. The Edmonton Heritage Festival aims to "create and promote public awareness and understanding of cultural diversity". In addition to being a member of the Bangladesh Canada Heritage Society of Edmonton, more than 50 dedicated volunteers assisted in the morning and evening activities. Among others the following volunteers Pinky, Shoha, Silvy, Sabree, Ali. Masoud, Sonia, Ananna, Ayat, Rahat, Rifat, Robin, Riya, Rajib, Rusel, Shoummo, Wazed, Bashir, Babu, Syfur, Taher, and Musfiq worked for the pavilion.
The Edmonton Heritage Festival at Hawrelak Park has become a banner year for this year with three days of amazing weather. Jim Gibbon, executive director of the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association, said, "Is there always a newcomer to the festival? But what often brings people back to it is: world-class food, great culture and great people all around". The Edmonton Heritage Festival aims to promote "public awareness and understanding of cultural diversity".
Executive director Jim Gibbons said the festival has been held at Hawrelak Park for a long time but the green space will be expanded and maintained shortly after 2020, so the event may not be held there. Organizers are now exploring alternatives to where the festival may be headed in time.
