Easier Access to Machine-Readable Passports (MRP)
Memorandum submitted to The Bangladesh High Commissioner of Canada for easier and quicker process to get the MRP
A Memorandum was submitted to The High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Ottawa, Canada, Mr. Kamrul Ahsan by an eminent journalist and human rights activist Delwar Jahid to ease and quicken the process of getting the MRP (Machine-Readable Passports) in Canada.
Delwar Jahid is the President of the Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA), the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA), and the Editor of the online news magazine Samajkantha.
Delwar Jahid urged to immediate repeal the provision of personal presence in Ottawa to finger print, signature print and to take the digital photo for the passport. He requested to outsource the work to each of the Canadian provinces, and to take immediate steps to resolve the problem of the machine-readable passport process.
The High Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan assured to write the government about the concern to resolve the problem in a meeting with Delwar Jahid. Councilor Rahat Zaman also joined in with The High Commissioner.
Mr. Jahid also met the Bangladesh High Commission officials Councilor Nahida Rahman Sumona, Ishrat Ahmed, Rahat Zaman, First Secretary (Counselor and DDO) Maksud Khan, and Second Secretary Arpana Rani Paul.
