Inauguration of the BHESA Executive Committee

In the morning of January 10, 2015 a simple ceremony was held at the premises of the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta in Edmonton, AB, Canada for the inauguration of BHESA's newly elected executive commitee. The event was chaired by second time elected president of BHESA (Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta) Delwar Jahid.

The occasion was useed by the partipants to discuss topics like the making of policies on a yearly base, as well as strategic planning for furture development of the organizations. Participants were Vice President Zulfiquer Ahmed, General Secretary Mashod Bhuiyan, Joint General Secretary M. Anamur Rahman Miea, Treasurer Nurul Huda, Member of Cultural Affairs Dollin Islam, Member of Social Affairs Mohammed Mobasser, and Ex-Officio / Honorary Member Anwarul Islam.

A plan for developing the presence of the organization in print and online media, and the development of BHESA's community magazine Edmonton Bichitra was presented during the meeting. It was decided, that under direct supervision of president Delwar Jahid the magazine will be edited by Syfur Hasan and Andy Strohkirch in a joint effort, as it has been done in the previous year.

The speakers of the meeting emphasized the upcoming celebration of International Mother Language Day, the Bengali New Year and the Edmonton Heritage Festival, which is seen as a chance to celebrate and introduce Bangladeshi culture and heritage to a broad audience. President Delwar Jahid also highlighted during his speech to the committee to strengthen the image of Bangladesh by embracing values like unity and non-partisanship while building the organization in a community effort.
