Opening of the Bangladesh Heritage School on Ekushey 2018

On February 25, 2018 the Bangladesh Heritage School has been inaugurated in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. The founders and supporters hope that the new school will support the idea of Ekushey by teaching Bengali language and music to the young generations of our local community.

Mashod Bhuiyan, the president of the Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA) presided over the inauguration ceremony. Delwar Jahid, the president of the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA), executive member of the Canada Unit Command of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Parliament, and Special Project Committee of BHESA said: "If our new generation does not have the ability to study the mother tongue and indigenous culture of their heritage here in their home country Canada, then Ekushey's consciousness will once again become formalized and meaningless."

The Board of Directors of the newly founded the Bangladesh Heritage School is going to start the classes this year. BHESA has taken initiatives to teach mathematics (KN-NINE) including Bengali language classes and music classes. The educational layout was conducted by the school coordinator Faisal Bhuiyan.
