CEMA Event

On May 14, 2014 the Canadian Ethnic Media Association (CEMA) organized a meeting at the St. John's Institute between Edmonton's police chief Rod Knecht and the writers and hosts of the local ethnic media in Edmonton. The meeting was used to provide contact and ideas of how the local communities can help the authorities to prevent crime.

News editor and founder of Edmonton's Samajkantha (The Voice of Society) Delwar Jahid was present, and addressed in a question and answer section a common problem: the conflict between local law, and how the cultural background in Bangladesh may conflict with it. It was further discussed, how these conflicts may be avoided and decriminalized.
